About this course

Machine learning is about learning patterns from data to make predictions. This course teaches the workflow practitioners actually follow: frame the problem, prepare the data, train several models, evaluate them honestly, and explain the results to people who will use them.

You will work in Google Colab with pandas and scikit-learn. The final project is a complete classification model on a dataset you choose, with a short report covering performance and limitations, including fairness and privacy.

Requirements

  • Comfortable with Python and pandas (our Data Analysis with Python course is ideal)
  • Basic statistics: mean, proportion, correlation

Who this course is for

  • Analysts and students moving from data analysis to prediction
  • Researchers who want to apply machine learning in health or social science
  • Developers adding prediction to their software
